New Year's Eve Bash

Hope you all had a great Christmas. Brie and I are excited about having you all over to our house on New Year's Eve. Be sure to sign up and get directions if you are interested. It is from 7:00pm to 1:00am. We look forward to seeing you.

Update: No Wii yet but I am still looking. There will be an Xbox 360 for sure.

Christmas party and Caroling

Just a reminder...

Christmas Caroling: Tomorrow night (Sat, Dec. 16) were going caroling. We're meeting at the church office at 6:00 pm and we'll return at 8:00 pm. Don't be late or we might accidentally leave you behind.

Christmas Party: You are not going to want to miss our party on Sunday night at the usual Thrive time (6:30-8:30 pm, Dec. 17). Bring a white elephant gift that costs no more than 5 bucks. We're going to have a ton of fun together with some games, singing, and snacks.

Christmas series continues

This week we are carrying on in our series Manger 360. We are looking at different perspectives of the birth of Christ. This week we will look at the perspective of the town of Bethlehem and the shepherds from the country.

Video of the Week: Basketball to the head

This little clip is very short but hilarious. Notice the kid running down the side of the court in the first part of the video. You have to appreciate the slide after the hit. You have to watch it again and look at just the crowds reaction. This clip is funny on so many levels.

Rake n Run Pictures

A few weeks ago we had our service project Rake n Run. We were able to rake three yards and really minister to some families as we did. It was a ton of fun to help out some people and of course you can't rake leaves without jumping in them. Here are a handful of pictures from that day.

Thanksgiving Dinner Photos

At Thrive, the Sunday before Thanksgiving, we had a challenge to create a Thanksgiving dinner using Spam and Play-Doh. The result was absolutely amazing I got some great shots of the plates. It was pretty frustrating though because whenever the girls were in the shot it was blurry. What can you do? My camera must just not like girls.

Sunday Night Preview

Sunday we are finish up our series in Daniel titled Stand Up. This week we are calling it "stay standing" because we will be seeing Daniel at the end of his life and the way that he is after living in a foreign land for 70+ years. This is going to be a great note to end on, you don't want to miss it.

Also, as far as the game, all that I can say is... eat your heart out.

Rake n' Run next Sunday

Next Sunday is our service project. This is going to be a fun day of hitting a couple of houses and blessing some people as we rake their yards. We won't get paid and some of the people may not even be home to thank us. Why do it then? We are trying to be like Jesus and show people love.

Hope you can make it. Sunday, November 5th. 3:30-6:30 pm. Bring three bucks for pizza at the church office before Thrive.

It's official. Thrive Junior High has its very own blog. We'll try to update it a couple of times a week with cool links or other stuff about the ministry.
